NVS organised Cluster/Regional/National Games & Sports Meet 2024-25 in JNV across the country. NVS students participated in the 19 events Sports/Games Meet are organized at three different levels namely Cluster Meet, Regional Meet & National Meet. The selected NVS team will participate in the 68th SGFI Meet.

Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti has been organizing NCC activities in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas with the motto “Unity and Discipline” with the support of NCC Directorate. It aims at:
NCC is being introduced in JNVs in a phased manner. As a part of NCC training, NCC Cadets of JNVs attended several NCC camps and enriched themselves. NCC Diwas, Quami Ekta Diwas are celebrated by our cadets. Activities like Shramdan and Community Programmes are conducted for personality development of students.

The mission of scouting is to contribute to the education of young people through a value system based on the “Scout Promise and Law” to help build a better world where people are self-fulfilled as individuals and play a constructive role in society. Scout & Guide units are separate although they have some activities in common, such as Jamborees, rallies and conferences. Differently abled children also participate in the Scouting programme. NVS is recognized as a state for Scouts &Guides activities under the Bharat Scouts & Guides. Various activities are being conducted in the vidyalayas to imbibe the children philosophy of the Scout & Guide movement. In 2023-24, Samiti has total 18978 Scouts & 19000 Guides strength in JNVs.
Under this programme the JNV students are facilitated to visualize the cultural heritage and strengthen universal values. Here students can understand about their national, historical, social, cultural and political developments; a section of which is devoted to local art and artefacts displaying the cultural and social facets indigenous to that place. Assistance @ Rs 10,000/- per year is given to the JNVs to establish and maintain the same for the benefit of the students.
Multi Gym facility is provided to Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas to develop fitness, physical and neuro-muscular skills and to promote the spirit of co-operation and sportsmanship.
NSS activities have been started in NVS with the help of Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. NSS is a noble experiment in academic extension. It inculcates the spirit of voluntary work among the students and teachers through sustained community interaction and brings our academic institutions closer to the society. Its motto, “Not Me But You,” encompasses knowledge (Academics) with action (Community Service) by way of regular activities and special programmes especially in rural areas.
Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti has been implementing Adolescence Education Programme(AEP) since 2005, in collaboration with UNFPA/NCERT and MHRD. The programme focuses on life skill education and provides factual information to adolescent students and encourages peer education on leadership qualities, self assessment, gender equality etc. The AEP programme, which was already initiated during 2010-2012 was further expanded to all Regional Offices across the country covering JNVs of various states. The JNVs are also providing counselling services to adolescent students through trained staff nurses and school support team comprising house master/mistress, who are trained under ’Well being’ programme. The ’Wellbeing’ programme focuses on basic counselling skills like problem solving and methods and applications of problem solving skills. National Foundation for Communal Harmony (NFCH), is an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India, is undertaking programmes and projects for providing assistance and care to families affected by terrorist, communal caste, ethnic and any other form of societal violence. NCFH also focuses on rehabilitation and education of children and/or vocational training to help them to assimilate into the main stream of society. NVS in collaboration with NFCH organized the following competitions at various levels in NVS :-
These competitions are conducted at four levels i.e. Vidyalaya Level, Cluster Level, Regional Level and National Level and awards are provided only for cluster/regional and National level winners by NFCH whereas for school level winners certificates are provided by NFCH.
Swachhata campaign in all the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas have been carried out. Special Committee constituted at Cluster Level assessed the implementation of Swachhata in 72 items under major 6 heads of Swachhata activities. Accordingly, following 6 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas among 595 have been selected as best JNVs in implementing SwachhataAbhiyan :

Pestalozzi International Village, a charity in England offers International Baccalaureate Diploma at Hastings College of Art & Technology for NVS students as scholarship. As on date we have sent 33 students of JNVs to England under this programme, who are getting modern and quality education, mostly free of cost by getting scholarships to embark on careers in different professions in countries like Germany, France, Britain, Spain, America etc.
National Talent Search Scheme, started in the year 1963, is a flagship programme/initiative of NCERT. The National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) is a national level scholarship program (Exam), conducted by National Council of Educational Research and Training to recognize and nurture talented students across India. The qualified students are extended financial assistance in the form of a monthly scholarship for the entire academic career. The NTSE scholar is always recognized as an extra ordinary student because the NTSE itself is widely regarded as the most prestigious examination at high school level in India. Children appearing in Class X are eligible to appear for the exam.
