14 मार्च, 2010 सबसे शुभ दिन था जब हिमाचल प्रदेश के तत्कालीन मुख्यमंत्री माननीय श्री प्रेम कुमार धूमल द्वारा जवाहर नवोदय विद्यालय, बंदरोल, कुल्लू की आधारशिला रखी गई। स्कूल का परिसर लगभग 5 एकड़ के वनों से घिरा हुआ है, जिसकी इमारतें खड़ी और घुमावदार रास्तों से जुड़ी हैं और हर मोड़ पर शानदार दृश्य प्रस्तुत करती हैं। इन इमारतों में सुंदर पुराना क्वाड, आधुनिक बुनियादी ढांचे की आधुनिक स्थिति और नए बने छात्र हॉस्टल और स्टाफ हाउस शामिल हैं। कई कक्षाओं सहित शैक्षणिक भवनों को एक कंप्यूटर नेटवर्क द्वारा जोड़ा जाता है। ईमेल और एक इंट्रानेट प्रणाली का व्यापक उपयोग दूरियों को सिकोड़ता है और कर्मचारियों, छात्रों और प्रशासन को एक दूसरे के साथ त्वरित और आसान संपर्क में रखता है। विद्यालय, बंदोल में, मुख्य कुल्लू-मनाली राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग (NH-21) पर देवदार के पेड़ों से घिरा हुआ है।
