Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Unnao is located in rural area of Unnao (U.P), 35 k.m from Railway Station towords Kali Mitti.( Rajiv Puram). It is established by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, an autonomous body under Ministry of HRD and based on National Education Policy of 1986 to provide quality education to rural talented children of different socio- Economic Background.
At present Dr Ramesh Babu, Principal, is making all possible efforts to take the institution on the path of success in all the fields.
At present the total strength of students is 524 comprising of 341 boys and 183 girls. Students are related to class VI through all India JNV Selection Test conducted by CBSE. In order to fill the vacant seats lateral entry has also been started by NVS for classes IX and XI. At +2 level students have only one option to opt for science stream. Students opting humanities and commerce are sent to other Vidyalayas under mini migration scheme.
Co-curricular activities for the special features of this institution for the overall development of the students. The students participate in the events of game and sports at cluster and regional level. Students are also given spiritual training in the morning assembly where a teacher addresses the children on moral values and principles of life.
