Museum Corner Traditionally, museums and schools are often linked by one-off field trips or educational presentations. During these interactions the main goals are often to introduce students to a museum environment, its general history, stories and the collections the museum has to offer. One way that Museums are expanding their connections to schools is through the introduction of Museum Schools. Museum Schools go beyond the field trip and incorporate an extension of classroom learning where by students venture to a museum (or in some cases, the museum comes to them) for in-depth interactions with its exhibition and artifacts. Commonly called “Learning Expedition,” teachers work with museums to create focused objectives tailored directly to a specific unit or lesson plan to illustrate the importance of museums as a learning space. This process embeds the museum into the core of the student’s daily work in a unit.

MUSIC ROOM

VIDYALAYA MESS The school dining room provides nourishing, healthy meals to the students. The school chefs design the menu, keeping in mind the needs and desires of the children. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals are served and the students often play an active part in menu planning. The school is very particular about cultural and religious sentiments and neither pork nor beef are ever served. There are five employees under the supervision of a Catering Assistant to meet the Kitchen requirements.

DINING HALL

“A sound mind in a sound body” goes the saying. In accordance with the dictum, considerable importance is given to the physical training of students. The morning P.T has ingredients like Jogging, Yoga, Mass Drill Displays and Discipline-Specific coaching. The evening sessions starts at 4 p.m and lasts for two hours. There are facilities for all the major outdoor games like Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Handball, Kho kho, cricket and indoor games like Shuttle badminton, Table Tennis and Chess. The school fields at least five players every year to represent Navodaya Vidyalaya Samithi at the National level in the Schools Games Federation of India (SGFI) tournaments. The trick of the trade is that the children showing talents for sports are identified as soon as they get admitted and then a discipline suitable for each child is identified and specific coaching is given.

PLAY GROUND

The school provides residential facilities for boys and girls on campus. Students are accommodated in 10 Dormitories. All the hostels are well appointed and have all the facilities that help the children live and grow in an environment that they can identify as their home. Trained staff members, including a housemistress and a housemaster, along with a whole range of support staff, are entrusted with the well being of the children and to ensure that the needs of our pupils are fully met.
