8 जनवरी 2006 सबसे शुभ दिन था जब माननीय श्री किरण रिजिजू (सांसद) द्वारा जवाहर नवोदय विद्यालय, नफरा, पश्चिम कमेंग (Ar. P) की आधारशिला रखी गई। स्कूल नफरा एक अस्थायी भवन में चल रहा है जो जिला मुख्यालय बोमडिला से लगभग 60 KM दूर है । अरुणाचल प्रदेश अपनी प्रकृति और प्राकृतिक सुंदरता के लिए जाना जाता है। यह विद्यालय उच्च पहाड़ियों और घने जंगल से घिरा हुआ है जो इसकी सुंदरता को बढ़ाता है। विद्यालय को 16.04.2023 को खेल्लोंग गांव में अस्थायी साइट से स्थायी साइट पर स्थानांतरित कर दिया गया है। खेल्लोंग गांव नफरा से 3 किमी दूर है।

The 8th January 2006 was the most auspicious day when the foundation stone of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Nafra, West Kameng (Ar. P) was laid down by Hon'ble Shri Khiren Rijiju (MP). The school is running at a temporary building located at Nafra which is almost 60 K.M. away from District Headquarters Bomdila. Arunachal Pradesh is known for its natural and scenic beauty. This school is also surrounded by high hills and dense forest which enhances the beauty of the Vidyalaya. The Vidyalaya is shifted from temporary site to permanent site at Khellong Village on 16.04.2023. The Khellong Village is 3 km. far from Nafra.
