About JNV Kodagu
NAVODAYA AT A GLANCE
The National Policy of Education launched in 1986 envisaged that in order to achieve national integration it was necessary to orient the education of boys and girls towards integration at an early age. To achieve this goal Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti an autonomous organization was set up as a society under the societies registration act in the Ministry of Human resource Development (Department of School Education& literary) Government of India to establish and run residential schools on an average of one in each District of the Country. Recently Govt has taken decision to start more.
MAIN OBJECTIVES OF JNV
- To provide good quality modern education including a strong component of culture, inculcation of values, awareness of the environment, adventure activities and physical education to the talented children predominantly from the rural areas, without regard to their socio-economic condition.
- To ensure that all students of Navodaya Vidyalaya attain a reasonable level of competence in three languages as envisaged in three language formula.
- To serve in each district as focal points for improvement in the quality of school education in general, through sharing of experiences and facilities.
Location of JNV Kodagu
A hillside with the air of freshness and purity is the coveted specialty of JNV, Kodagu. The Vidyalaya is located ideally, near to district headquarter madikeri, where you can reach from all the directions. The site is 6.4 Kms away from Madikeri near a small village, Galibeedu where the fast growing technology has not yet encroached. It is well connected to the Tehsil headquarters with a metallic road. To reach precisely the direction map is like this.Kodagu JNV is famous for its Scenic beauty and Coffee plantation and spices.
