JNV KAZA AT LARI
Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Kaza, Distt. Lahaul & Spiti established in the year 2000 in its temporary abode, has carved a niche in the field of education in a short span of time. Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Lahaul & Spiti (H.P) has been shifted to its permanent site from JNV Kaza to JNV Lari in the year 2017 at the height of 3200 Mtrs above sea level, is about 53 Kms from the Kaza toward the Reckong Peo. Its closer to world renowned Tabo: a place with a large monastery of great historical significance. The Vidyalaya is enclosed between the lofty mountain ranges with the Spiti River rising out of a gorge in the south east to make Satluj River. It is a typical cold desert region with its harshest and treacherous weather and the most winding waves.
The Vidyalaya is housed in scattered accommodation; the academic block of the Vidyalaya facing the snow clad mountains offers a spectacular landscape of serenity. In fact the pollution free atmosphere of the exotic Spiti Valley has been an inspiring factor for the staff and students to pursue the noble task of teaching-learning process.
As a part of New Education Policy, 1986, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Kaza at Lari, Distt. Lahaul & Spiti was established by the Then Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sh.P.S.Draik in the Tehsil Bhawan on 14.04.2000 with 40 students as the first batch for the academic year 2000-01. The Vidyalaya is the managed by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, New Delhi: an autonomous organization working under the Department of Education, Ministry of HRD, Govt.
Sh.A.K.Mishra was the first Incharge Principal of the Vidyalaya.
