Janjatiya Gaurav Divas 2024

Janjatiya Gaurav Divas, observed annually on 15th November, honors the birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, an iconic leader in India’s tribal freedom movement. To celebrate his legacy and the invaluable contributions of tribal communities in nation-building, the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports will organize a Padayatra (foot march) with a focus on commemorating tribal heritage, promoting inclusivity, and raising awareness about government schemes beneficial to tribal communities. This will be a large-scale voluntary mass movement anchored by the youth to preserve, promote and respect tribal culture, heritage and legacy.
