The 26h Feb, 2018 was the most auspicious day when the foundation stone of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Khunti was inaugurated by Hon. MP Kadiya Munda. The school is running at temporary site in the building of Model School. The Ground floor is under the Model School, and JNV is running on first floor. Till date the highest class is VIII. It is 3.5 km away from Khunti town and 6 km away from the office of DC, Khunti. There are many tourist spots in the surrounding of Khunti like Heerni Park, Panchghagh waterfall, Baghmunda etc.
