The Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Jamtara, Jharkhand was established on 21st Sepember 2007 in the temporary building of ITI campus, Jamtara. The vidyalaya shifted to its permanent building in the month of April'2014 at Tambajore. By passing through the different ups & downs the vidyalaya finally settle down in its permanent campus at Tambajore. Now the vidyaya started taking admission of full strength i.e.02 batches of 80 students from the session 2019-20.

The total area of campus covers 17.65 acres, registered in the name of Samiti. Construction of Phase 'A' work is completed and Phase 'B' work is going on. The design of building is CPWD,i.e, outer wall of building is having concrete  semented wall, which gives beautiful look to the campus.The modern state of art, infrastructure and the newly-refurnished  student's hostels and staff quarters. The academic building, which includes academic and administrative       is in square shape and gives attractive look to the building, from where in one command the whole vidyalaya can be controlled.The wide use of e-mail and internet service shrinks the distances and keeps staff, students and administration in quick and easy contact. The Vidyalaya is surrounded by the green Ashoka trees on the main Dumka-Jamtara Highway.

The full strength of vidyaya is 360 with 22 teaching & 17 non teaching staff.The vidyalaya is having SAMSUNG SMART CLASS with 41 LAPTOP, LED-MONITOR WITH WI-FI facility. PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY, BIOLOGY, COMPUTER, JUNIOR SCIENCE LAB & MATHS LAB are well equiped and functional. A rich library with more than 3000 books ,approx. 40 magazines & 10-12 Newspapers are available.

Though the Play field area is less but a lot of indoor games & available outdoor games facilities are available. Systematic Daily routiene which covers all aspects are followed in the vidyalaya.Creative and re-creational activities are  being followed in the vidyalaya as per schedule.
