The Navodaya Vidyalayas have been envisaged as Pace Setting Institutions,centers of educational excellence , providing opportunities for development not only to Navodaya Vidyalaya students but also to the children of neighbouring rural area students through sharing of facilities. Leadrship qualities and other educational concerns that are linked to community and national development are also inculcated through pace setting activities. Interactions of staff and students of Navodaya Vidyalayas with their counterparts in neighbouring schools, participation in joint community efforts, adoption of a village for awareness programmes and sharing of educational facilities are some of the pace setting activities undertaken by Navodaya Vidyalyas.
Student Police Corps at JNVB(U)-2019-20 was launched by the Dept. of Police, Karnataka in which 50 students of Class VIII have been enrolled. Weekly theory classes on Saturday Morning/Afternoon hours were engaged. Once or twice in a month SPC cadets have gone to the public for imparting Law and Order .Traffic awareness, Controlling crowds during Village Fair, Market Days etc.
Student Police Corps - Activity -01 Physical Drill (2019-20)
Every saturday afternoon sessions were utilized for various theory classes viz. 1) Drug addiction 2) Ill effects of Liquor 3) Smoking and its consequences 4) POCSO Act and seeking redressal 5) Child Labour 6) Women Empowerment etc.
Student Police Cops students were taken for various places / Institutes / Organisations / Centres etc. for first hand Experience like (a) Vidhan Soudha i.e, State Assembly (b) Orphanage etc.
Student Police Cops - Activity -04 Closing Ceremony(2019-20)
The following pace setting activities were conducted in the Academic year 2022-23 1) street play - Importance of Girls Education: Performed / Presented at Bagalur Colony, for creating awareness. Pics enclosed 2) Planting saplings for go green activity conducted at Govt. Higher Primary School, Maralakunte Village 3) knowledge imparting to girls of Govt Higher Primary school, Maralakunte regarding Importance of maintaining Hygiene during Menstruation. Regards
