PM SHRI Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Pojewal, S.B.S. Nagar, Punjab, was established in 11th September, 1986 in accordance with NPE-1986.
Vidyalaya is situated in a 30 - acres plot in Pojewal village at tehsil Balachaur, (in ertwhile District Nawanshahr now named after the greatest martyr Shahid Bhagat Singh) S.B.S. Nagar in the state of Punjab.
It is a C.B.S.E affiliated school (CBSE School No. - PB04614 & Affliation No. - 1640005 )primarily aims at identification and development of talented school children predominantly from rural areas who are denied good educational opportunities.
Admission to the Vidyalaya is based on an annual merit test, called the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test(JNVST) except lateral admissions in the class IX and XI to the very limited seats.
