नवोदय विद्यालय प्रणाली भारत और अन्य जगहों पर स्कूली शिक्षा के इतिहास में एक अनूठा प्रयोग है। इसका महत्व लक्षित समूह के रूप में प्रतिभाशाली ग्रामीण बच्चों के चयन में है और आवासीय विद्यालय प्रणाली में सर्वश्रेष्ठ के समान उन्हें गुणवत्तापूर्ण शिक्षा प्रदान करने का प्रयास है। ऐसे बच्चे समाज के सभी वर्गों में और सबसे पिछड़े सहित सभी क्षेत्रों में पाए जाते हैं। लेकिन, अब तक, अच्छी गुणवत्ता की शिक्षा केवल समाज के अच्छे वर्गों के लिए उपलब्ध है, और गरीबों को छोड़ दिया गया है। यह महसूस किया गया कि विशेष प्रतिभा या योग्यता वाले बच्चों को तेज गति से आगे बढ़ने के अवसर प्रदान किए जाने चाहिए, जिससे उन्हें अच्छी गुणवत्ता वाली शिक्षा उपलब्ध हो, भले ही वे इसके लिए भुगतान करने की क्षमता के बावजूद हो। इतने प्रतिभाशाली बच्चे अन्यथा गुणवत्ता वाले आधुनिक से वंचित रह जाते। शिक्षा केवल शहरी क्षेत्रों में पारंपरिक रूप से उपलब्ध है। इस तरह की शिक्षा ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों के छात्रों को अपने शहरी समकक्षों के साथ एक समान पायदान पर प्रतिस्पर्धा करने में सक्षम बनाती है। शिक्षा पर राष्ट्रीय नीति -1986 में आवासीय विद्यालयों की स्थापना की परिकल्पना की गई, जिसे पीएम श्री स्कूल जवाहर नवोदय विद्यालय कहा जाता है जो ग्रामीण प्रतिभाओं का सर्वश्रेष्ठ प्रदर्शन करेगा।

 पीएम श्री स्कूल जवाहर नवोदय विद्यालय मुख्य रूप से ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों के बच्चों के लिए सह-शैक्षिक आवासीय विद्यालय हैं, जिनका उद्देश्य है:

• संस्कृति के एक मजबूत घटक, मूल्यों का समावेश, पर्यावरण के प्रति जागरूकता, ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों के प्रतिभाशाली बच्चों को साहसिक शिक्षा और शारीरिक शिक्षा सहित अच्छी गुणवत्ता वाली आधुनिक शिक्षा प्रदान करना। नवोदय विद्यालयों में छात्रों को कक्षा -6 में प्रवेश दिया जाता है और कक्षा -12 वीं तक शिक्षा प्रदान की जाती है। अब कक्षा- IX और XI में भी छात्रों के पार्श्व प्रवेश के लिए प्रावधान किया गया है।
• यह सुनिश्चित करने के लिए कि नवोदय विद्यालय के सभी छात्रों को तीन भाषाओं फॉर्मूला में परिकल्पित के रूप में तीन भाषाओं में उचित स्तर की योग्यता प्राप्त हो।
• अनुभव और सुविधाओं के बंटवारे के माध्यम से स्कूल शिक्षा की गुणवत्ता में सुधार के लिए केंद्र बिंदु के रूप में प्रत्येक जिले में सेवा करने के लिए।

हमारा लक्ष्य

    हम ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों से मुख्य रूप से प्रतिभाशाली उज्ज्वल और प्रतिभाशाली बच्चों की पहचान और विकास की परिकल्पना करते हैं जो अच्छे शैक्षिक अवसरों से वंचित हैं।

     गुणवत्तापूर्ण शिक्षा के उद्देश्यों को प्रभावी शैक्षणिक, सह-पाठ्यचर्या और साहसिक गतिविधियों, शारीरिक शिक्षा, तीन भाषाओं में योग्यता के उचित स्तर के माध्यम से पूरा करने की मांग की जाती है।

हम हैं

   पीएम श्री स्कूल जवाहर नवोदय विद्यालय नवोदय विद्यालय समिति के अंतर्गत है और पंजीकरण अधिनियम, 1860 के तहत एक पंजीकृत सोसायटी है। स्कूल शिक्षा विभाग के तहत एक स्वायत्त निकाय है।

हम क्या हैं

     नवोदय विद्यालय केंद्रीय माध्यमिक शिक्षा बोर्ड (CBSE) से संबद्ध हैं।

    हम बोर्डिंग और लॉजिंग के साथ-साथ यूनिफ़ॉर्म, टेक्स्ट बुक्स, स्टेशनरी आदि पर मुफ्त शिक्षा देते हैं। हालाँकि, एक मामूली शुल्क @ रु। नवोदय विकास निधि के रूप में कक्षा IX से XII के छात्रों से प्रति माह 600 / - का शुल्क लिया जाता है। अनुसूचित जाति, अनुसूचित जनजाति वर्ग, लड़कियों, विकलांग और गरीबी रेखा से नीचे के परिवारों के बच्चों से संबंधित छात्रों को शुल्क के भुगतान से छूट दी गई है।

• सीटों का आरक्षण-ग्रामीण कम से कम 75%, शहरी अधिकतम 25%।
• लड़कियों के लिए सीटों के आरक्षण का प्रावधान - 33%।
• कक्षा-छठी से बारहवीं तक पूरी तरह से आवासीय सह-शिक्षा विद्यालय स्थापित करना और चलाना।
• सभी छात्रों को नि: शुल्क चिकित्सा सुविधा प्रदान करना।
• अभिभावक शिक्षक परिषद को व्यवस्थित करें और उनकी आवधिक बैठकें आयोजित करें।

    संबंधित जिले में सीबीएसई द्वारा डिजाइन और संचालित अंतिम प्रकार के उद्देश्य से ही कक्षा -6 में प्रवेश प्रदान करें। कक्षा- IX और XI स्तर के छात्रों के पार्श्व प्रवेश के लिए भी प्रावधान किया गया है।

    एक भाषाई क्षेत्र में स्थित एक विद्यालय से कक्षा- IX में 30% छात्र देश की संस्कृतियों और लोगों की विविधता और बहुलता की समझ के माध्यम से राष्ट्रीय एकीकरण को बढ़ावा देने के लिए एक अलग भाषाई क्षेत्र के एक विद्यालय में एक अकादमिक वर्ष बिताते हैं।

    कंप्यूटर साक्षरता और कंप्यूटर एडेड शिक्षा कार्यक्रमों का आयोजन।

जवाहर नवोदय विद्यालयों में प्रवेश मुख्य रूप से ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों के बच्चों के लिए, जिनमें 75% सीटें ग्रामीण बच्चों के लिए हैं। जिले में एससी और एसटी समुदाय के बच्चों के लिए उनकी आबादी के अनुपात में सीटें आरक्षित हैं, लेकिन राष्ट्रीय औसत से कम नहीं। 1/3 सीटें छात्राओं के लिए हैं। 3% सीटें विकलांग बच्चों के लिए हैं

The Navodaya Vidyalaya System is a unique experiment unparalleled in the annals of school education in India and elsewhere. Its significance lies in the selection of talented rural children as the target group and the attempt to provide them with quality education comparable to the best in a residential school system. Such children are found in all sections of society, and in all areas including the most backward. But, so far, good quality education has been available only to well-to-do sections of society, and the poor  have  been left out. It was felt that children with special talent or aptitude should be provided opportunities to proceed at a faster pace, by making good quality education available to them, irrespective of their capacity to pay for it.These talented children otherwise would have been deprived of quality modern education traditionally available only in the urban areas. Such education would enable students from rural areas to compete with their urban counterparts on an equal footing. The National Policy on Education-1986 envisaged the setting up of residential schools, to be called Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas that would bring out the best of rural talent.

 PM Shri School Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas are co-educational residential schools primarily for the children from rural areas which aim at :

• To provide good quality modern education including a strong component of culture, inculcation of values, awareness of the environment, adventure and physical education to the talented children from the rural areas. Students in the Navodaya Vidyalayas are admitted in Class-VI and provided education upto Class-XII. Now provision is made for lateral entry of students in Class-IX & XI also.
• To ensure that all students of Navodaya Vidyalayas attain a reasonable level of competency in three languages as envisaged in Three Language Formula.
• To serve in each district as focal point for improvement in the quality of school education through sharing of experience and facilities.

OUR MISSION

• We envisage identification and development of talented bright and gifted children predominantly from rural areas who are denied good educational opportunities.
•  Objectives of quality education are sought to be fulfilled through effective academic, co-curricular and adventure activities, physical education, reasonable level of competency in three languages.

WE ARE

• PM Shri School Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya is under Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti and is a registered Society under Registration of Societies Act, 1860. The  Society is an autonomous body under the Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Human Resouce Development, Govt. of India, Hon”ble Minister of Human Resource Development is the Chairman and Hon”ble Minister of State of Human Resource Development (Education) is the Vice-Chairman of the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti.
• JNVs are functioning at the district level through the Vidyalaya Management Committee under the Chairmanship of District Collector, in all the participating States & Union Territories of the country.

 WHAT WE ARE

• Navodaya Vidyalayas are affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
• We provide free education including boarding and lodging as well as expenses on Uniform, Text Books, Stationery etc. However, a nominal fee @ Rs. 600/- per month is charged from students of Class-IX to XII as Navodaya Vikas Nidhi. The students belonging to SC, ST categories, girls, disabled and children of the families below poverty line are exempted from the payment of fee.
• Reservation of seats-Rural at least 75%, Urban Utmost 25%.
•  Provision of reservation of seats for girls – 33%.
• Establish and run fully residential co-educational schools from Class-VI to XII.
• Extend First aid medical  health facilities to all the students free of cost limitation to Rs 30 Per month.
• Organise Parent Teacher Council and conduct their periodical meetings.
• Provide admission in Class-VI only through objective type finaltest designed and conducted by CBSE in the concerned district. Provision is also made for lateral entry of students of Class-IX & XI level.
• 30% of students in Class-IX from a Vidyalaya located in one linguistic area spend one academic year in a Vidyalaya of a different linguistic region to promote national integration through understanding of the diversity and plurality of country”s cultures and people.
• Organize Computer Literacy and Computer Aided Education Programmes.
• Organize National Integration Meet for its students in order to create a climate for better understanding and communication in the Navodaya fraternity.
