The 20th AUGUST, 1987 was the most auspicious day when the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Zincnagar, Sundargarh was started functioning. The school campus covers around 34.80 acres in the Zinc Nagar, it is 22 K.M.distance from district headquarter.The population of the district is mainly with Sceduled Tribe pepole, and highly riched with minerals. Mainy coal mines ,Iron mines and SAIL at Rourkela and cement factory at Rajgangpur famous for Industries. This vidyalaya is taking students from 17 blocks of the district.
