नामांकन नीति

जवाहर नवोदय विद्यालय में प्रवेश सीबीएसई द्वारा डिजाइन और संचालित एक चयन परीक्षा के आधार पर किया जाता है। परीक्षण को जवाहर नवोदय विद्यालय 
चयन परीक्षा (JNVST) कहा जाता है। यह गैर-मौखिक प्रकृति, वर्ग-तटस्थ और डिज़ाइन किया गया है ताकि यह सुनिश्चित किया जा सके कि ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों के
प्रतिभाशाली बच्चे किसी भी नुकसान का सामना किए बिना प्रतिस्पर्धा करने में सक्षम हों। यह सुनिश्चित करने के लिए विशेष ध्यान रखा जाता है कि दूर दराज के
क्षेत्रों के बच्चों को बिना किसी कठिनाई के प्रवेश पत्र निःशुल्क मिलें। दूरदर्शन, ऑल इंडिया रेडियो, स्थानीय समाचार पत्रों, पुस्तिकाओं, विद्यालय वेबसाइटों के
माध्यम से और जिले के स्थानीय स्कूलों में नवोदय विद्यालयों के प्रधानाचार्यों और शिक्षकों के दौरे के माध्यम से पर्याप्त प्रचार किया जाता है।

Eligibility Conditions and Composition of the Test

पात्रता की शर्तें

सभी उम्मीदवारों के लिए

  1.  जिले के केवल उम्मीदवार जहां जवाहर नवोदय विद्यालय खोले गए हैं, वे प्रवेश के लिए आवेदन करने के पात्र हैं। हालांकि, जिस जिले में जेएनवी खोला जाता है और बाद की तारीख में द्विभाजित होता है, जिले की पुरानी सीमाओं को जेएनवी में प्रवेश के लिए पात्रता के उद्देश्य से माना जाता है। यह उन मामलों पर लागू होता है जहां नए विद्यालय अभी तक नए द्विभाजित जिले में शुरू नहीं किए गए हैं।
  2.  चयन परीक्षा के लिए उपस्थित होने वाले उम्मीदवारों को सरकार / सरकार-सहायता प्राप्त, अन्य मान्यता प्राप्त स्कूल या राष्ट्रीय मुक्त विद्यालय शिक्षा संस्थान के 'बी' सर्टिफिकेट कॉम्पिटिशन कोर्स, उसी जिले में, जहां / वह प्रवेश चाहती है।एक स्कूल को मान्यता दी जाएगी यदि वह सरकार द्वारा या सरकार की ओर से अधिकृत किसी अन्य एजेंसी द्वारा घोषित किया गया हो। स्कूल, जहां छात्रों ने नेशनल इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ ओपन स्कूलिंग के तहत ’बी’ प्रमाण पत्र प्राप्त किया है, उनके पास एनआईओएस की मान्यता होनी चाहिए। एक उम्मीदवार को सफलतापूर्वक कक्षा-वी पूरा करना होगा। कक्षा-VI में वास्तविक प्रवेश इन शर्तों के अधीन होगा।
  3.  A candidate seeking admission must be within the age group of 9 to 13 years. This is applicable to candidates of all categories, including those who belong to the Scheduled Castes(SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs).
  4.   A candidate claiming admission from rural quota must have studied and passed Classes- III, IV and V from a Govt./Govt. Aided/ recognised school spending one full academic session each year in a school located in a rural area.
  5.   A candidate who has studied in a school located in an urban area even for a single day of a session in any of the Classes-III, IV or V, will be considered as an Urban area candidate. Urban areas are those, which are so notified in the 2001 Census or through a subsequent Government Notification. All other areas will be considered as rural.
  6.   A candidate who has not been promoted and admitted to Class-V before 30th September, is not eligible to apply.
  7.   No candidate is eligible to appear in the JNV Selection Test for a second time, under any circumstances.

Reservation for Rural, SC/ST, Girls & Disabled Children

  1.   At least 75% of the seats in a district will be filled by candidates selected from rural areas and remaining seats will be filled up from the urban areas of the district.
  2.   There is a provision for reservation of seats for SC and ST candidates in proportion to their population in the district but not less than the national average
  3.   1/3 of the seats are reserved for girl students.
  4.   There is a provision for reservation of 3% seats for disabled children (i.e. Orthopedically Handicapped, Hearing Impaired and Visually Handicapped).

Composition of the test

The medium of the Test (JNVST) will be in any language out of 21 languages as notified.

In order to optimally utilise the infrastructure and staff facilities available in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, vacant seats in Class-IX are filled up through Lateral Entry Test. During the year 2016-17, Lateral Entry Test for Class-IX was conducted in 550 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas.

Eligibility Conditions

To appear in the Selection Test, a candidate has to fulfill the following eligibility conditions :

  • Only those candidates who have studied in Class-VIII in one of the Govt./Govt. recognised schools of the district where the JNV is functioning can seek admission in Class-IX.
  • A candidate seeking admission must be between the age group 13-16 years on 1st May of the year of admission for which the Selection Test is conducted. This is applicable to all categories of candidates including those who belong to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
  • The medium of Language for the Examination is English/Hindi.

 

Composition of Test for Class-IX

Admission Test consists of questions of Class-VIII standard in the following subjects.

The test is conducted in objective/descriptive of type 3 hours duration without any break.

Centre for JNVST Class-IX

The Centre for the JNVST Class-IX Examination is Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya of the respective district.

Reservation

The existing vacant seats in the SC/ST category, as notified, are reserved for the SC/ST students.

LATERAL ENTRY FOR CLASS-XI

Issue of Notification for Admission in Class-XI

The vacant seats available in each JNV is notified every year in the local newspapers by the JNV concerned of that district. The admission in Class–XI is completed by 15th July every year.

Eligibility for Admission in Class-XI

  • Students seeking admission in Class–XI should be within the age limit of 14-18 years as on 1st July, of the year of admission.
  • The candidate must have passed Class–X from a recognized school (affiliated to CBSE or any other State Education Board) of the district where the JNV is located during the academic session of the year of admission.
  • The merit list will be prepared as per marks obtained by the applicant in the Class–X Board Exam and the admission will be given as per eligibility of candidate and the seats available in the JNV concerned.
  • The candidates must have reasonable competency in English and Hindi.
