The 04th Feb, 2007 was the most auspicious day when the foundation stone of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Nawadih, Rohtas was laid down by Hon Shri M.A. Fatimi, H.R.D Minister and Hon Smt. Kanti Singh, State Minister, Gov of India. The school campus covers around 30 Acres. The academic buildings including several classrooms are linked by a computer network. The widespread use of email and an intranet system shrinks the distances and keeps staff, students and administration in quick and easy contact with one another. The Vidyalaya is at a distance of about 40 Kms from Dehri on son railway Station. Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya,Nawadih, rohtas is fully residential, co-educational schools affiliated to CBSE, New Delhi having classes up to XIIth standard. Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, an autonomous Organization under the ministry of HRD, Government of India.Quality modern education with a strong component of culture, promotion of National Integration through student migration between Hindi speaking and Non-Hindi speaking states and following a three language formula with vernacular as medium of instruction are some of the salient features of this unique educational venture.
