ABOUT THE VIDYALAYA

         Establishment: The JawaharNavodayaVidyalaya, ShankarNagar has been established on 22 nd August-1987 in temporary structures provided by Godavari ManarSakharKarkhana, Shankarnagar. The Management of SakharKarkhana has provided their own buildings and their staff residences for the students and staff for Vidyalaya and residence purpose.            [PresentSaibaba Junior and Degree College, Shankarnagar]

Permanent site: The GODAVAR MANOR SAKHAR KARKHANA, SHANKARNAGAR has good enough to provide 35 acres, which is donated by the local formers of Ramtirth Village and Sakahar Karkhana for the construction of the permanent buildings. The Vidyalaya has been shifted to the present site in the year 1992.

Buildings:  initially principal’s residence, MP Hall, Vidyalaya Building (Administrative Block) 03 residential quarter Blocks, 04 Warden Residences,4 Boys Dormitories accommodating 320 boys and  02 Girls Dormitories accommodating  16o students in two tier cot system, one work shop , front side compound wall [ back side fencing], sump house, overhead tank, power House are handed over. Later 10 group d quarters [Type-I] are handed over in 1996. In the next phase 3 residential quarter’s blocks handed over by CPWD in 2005.Additional Dining hall for the students has been constructed and handed over by CPWD 2010. A Dormitory accommodating 96 has been handed over by UP Jal Nigam in the year 2014 and0.25 girls student’s dormitory has been handed over and another 48 student’s girls dormitory handed over by CPWD in 2014.

   As on date 40 staff Quarters, one principal residence, 04 girls dormitories for a maximum strength of 176 girls students and 03 Boys dormitories for a maximum strength 0f 40+96 in single tire accommodation system and 02 boys dormitories  accommodating 160  Boys students Two tire system are  available.  Hence boy’s accommodation restricted to 160+136=296 only. There is some shortage of accommodation for students, a 0.5 CPWD pattern dormitory for boys will solve the accommodation problem in the Vidyalaya, but there is no shortage for staff accommodation in the Vidyalaya campus. However one guest house is required essentially.

Academics: The Vidyalaya at present having + 2 stage in academics. The Vidyalaya is affiliated with CBSE, New Delhi, with No.4410006 (OLD NO. 4503). AT +2 STAGE Vidyalaya is having science as optional. The +2 stage has been started in the Vidyalaya in the year1991, as the first batch of Class –X students rolled out in the year 1991, but due to administrative reasons the Class XII has been freezed from1996-97from2002-03 to and again the Class XI started in the year 2003-04and this batch appeared Class-XII in March-2005. In between the students of this Vidyalaya migrated to JNV-Hingoli [erstwhile Parbhani] for their Class XI-XII in science and for JNV-Latur and JNV-Jalna for Humanities. Our Vidyalaya is linked with JNV-Khurai, Dist: SAGAR (MP) for migration, which is a vital part of Navodaya Vidyalaya scheme. The migration and mini migration are successfully organized since beginning. The Vidyalaya is provided with 50 computers under CLASS scheme 2002, these are under operation successfully since April’ 2002
