Since 2004, our Vidyalaya has been established as and on temporary site, the year 2010 was the most auspicious year when the foundation stone of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Mon, Nagaland was laid down by Hon. Shri Neiphiu Rio, the then and present Chief Minister of Nagaland as the school shifted in a permanent building site. The school campus covers around 39 acres of forested hillside with its buildings connected by steep and windy paths and offering spectacular views at every turn. These buildings include the beautiful old Quad, the modern state of art infrastructure and the newly-refurbished student hostels and staff houses. The academic buildings including several classrooms are linked by a computer network. The widespread use of email and an intranet system shrinks the distances and keeps staff, students and administration in quick and easy contact with one another. The school is located on the lap of exotic hill side of Wakching Village, at a height of about 3650 feet. Most of the student are from the Konyak sub-tribe of Naga. It has became the leading organization and Model School for the entire Mon district. Our Navodaya has the largest strenght as compare to other JNVs located in the state of Nagaland District.
