CCA:

Co–Curricular Activities (CCA) are the activities which are undertaken along with academic studies. They supplement academic curriculum and help in learning by doing.   These activities help students to develop problem solving, reassures Critical thinking, Communication and collaborative abilities.   The Co–curricular activities help students in emotional and overall personality development. Activities such as recitation, quiz, extempore, elocution, debate, mono act, fancy dress competitions are conducted in JNV‘s based on a well-planned CCA calendar. These inter house competitions are conducted for junior level and senior level. Various clubs like Literary, Mathematics, Reading, Music, Art, Health & Wellness and Gardening are functioning in the vidyalaya.   Students are also given opportunity to take part in outside competitions.  Navodayas on the whole promotes National Integration and celebrates all regional and national festivals to promote the feeling of oneness among the staff and students.

Games and sports

Games and Sports play a vital role in the JNV’s to ensure all round development of students. They learn to respect authority and rules, time management and also the split of competition.   Sports also increases self–esteem, mental alertness and reduces self and anxiety.   Talented students are identified at an early stage and are given special coaching to excel in their fields. Every year, they are given the opportunity to prove their skills in the school level, cluster level, Regional level and National level.   Further the outstanding students are also given the chance to take part in school Games Federation of India (SGFI).

CLEANLINESS:

 Vidyalaya campus as well as the buildings are kept clean and hygienic by 02 permanent sweeper cum Chowkidars.   They maintain the cleanliness of the Admin block, Academic block, Classrooms, Labs, and Library.  They also maintain the garden in the campus.   JNV Calicut campus comprises of 25 acres of land.   Labours are hired to cut the trees, shrubs and bushes. Cleaning of the campus is also done by the staff and students on a well-planned manner as a part of the Swatch Bharath Mission Drive.

MORNING ASSEMBLY:

Morning assembly is the main programme that makes the beginning of days activities. It helps students to cultivate a sense of belongingness towards the school.   It trains students to behave well and learn to respect and appreciate what others have done for them. The House Masters /Mistresses as well as the associate House masters/Mistresses ensure that the students prepare well and present the items properly in the Assembly .The MOD also gives a talk to inculcate values among the students. Navodaya prayer song, Pledge, Thought for the day, News, Book Review, Community song and National Anthem are the activities in the morning Assembly
