The establishment of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas were a pioneering step in the direction of New Education Policy promulgated in 1986 by the govt. of India. The objective of such educational institution is to provide quality education to the talented students of rural India district wise.In such direction Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Jhunjhunu was established in the village of Kajra, Tehsil Surajgarh in 1994. It is a Co-educational institution catering to the academic needs of the talented boys and girls of Jhunjhunu district.

Vision of the School

To provide a value based modern quality education with a strong component of culture, awareness of environment, adventurous activities and physical education to the selected talented children predominantly from the rural areas of the District,  to ensure that students attain a reasonable level of competence in English, Hindi and one of the Regional Languages, to serve as a pace setting institution in the District and to develop the personality of the students by drawing out, whatever is the best in them, mentally, morally and physically and to mould them to become useful and excellent human beings with qualities of discipline, determination, dedication, devotion, conviction, courage, competence and patriotic feeling.

1. Campus

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Kajra, Jhunjhunu campus is spread over 30 acres of land. It consists of Academic block, Hostels for boys and girls, Dining  Hall, Staff Quarters, Gym, Art, Music room, Play fields for boys and girls, Guest Room, Stores, underground and over head water tanks, RO water purification Plants, Kitchen Gardens, Fruit Gardens, Flower Gardens, Tuck shop, Sentry Hut, MTS duty room, etc.

The School provides an excellent and stress free academic environment in the school. It is clear from the results of board and non-board classes. Through the observation of the classes via the Principal and Vice Principal teacher and students are being monitored in the academic activities. The teachers are adopting mainly pupil centered approach and using ICT in their class room interaction whenever and where ever required. Students are being motivated time to time utilize their time fruitfully and usefully.

The school provides every facilities for the overall development of the students.

Samsung smart class rooms and Digital class rooms to conduct online classes and well equipped labs with LCD projects and internet facilities is an added advantage of school to impart modern education.

The plain walls in the academic premise is filled with General information like world map, Capitals of the world countries, Political Map of India, Political Map of Rajasthan and districts.

The flower Gardens inside and outside of the academic block is quite inspirational.

The Honor boards installed in the reception room of academic block is motivational to the students as well as to the outsiders.

A well maintained and equipped library provides a treasure house of knowledge for the students as well as teachers.

A well equipped staff room gives a well designed time for leisurely activities for the staff.

Taking in to account of covid-19 Pandemic automatic sanitization machine is installed at the entrance of the academic block.

Vidyalaya has separate hostels for boys and girls.

All the hostels are well equipped with sufficient toilets and bathrooms. Every hostel has the facility of   24 hours running water.

Dormitories are well ventilated with mosquito protection nets on windows and doors.

School provides bedding, bed sheets, pillows, pillow covers and blankets.

Students are also provided with toiletries every month.

M.T.S. is looking after the maintenance and locking of the dormitories in the absence of student and security issues related to dormitories under the able guidance of House masters, Assistant House masters, counselors, Staff Nurse with the close monitoring on Principal and Vice Principal.

Girls dormitories are having a facilities of inclinators and vending machines.

The facility of hot water is provided to the students in the winter.

1. School Mess

A well maintained and furnished school mess is running for the students.

Quality food is provided to the students with proper discipline and décor.

A team under the guidance of catering assistant is working to fulfill the dining needs of the students.

An R.O. Plant with a capacity of 500 liters water/hour is installed in the mess to cater to the needs of the drinking water of students and staff.

A kitchen Garden well maintained mess surroundings with flower garden and kitchen garden is an added advantage to the beautification of mess.

The food in the mess is served after tested by Staff Nurse and Catering assistant.

The distribution of the food is being monitored by the Vice Principal and supervised by the duty teachers and M.O.D..

A systematic arrangement for the keeping of the plates of students is kept in the Mess.

• Games and Sports

The Vidyalaya has separate play fields for the boys and girls.

There are 5 Volleyball courts 2 Basketball courts and 1 bed Minton, and 1 Kho-Kho courts for the girls.

Similarly there is a full fledged football ground with 400 meters track, 8 Volleyball courts, 2 Basketball courts, 1 Handball Court and 1 junior football court and 2 Kho-Kho courts, 1 Kabaddi court, long jump, 2 badminton courts and high jump pit  are available for the boys.

A construction of Cricket pitch, Hockey court and on the anvil .

An indoor Gym is functioning in the school for the physical build of the student.

To foster the creative talent of the students a separate music room known as Hall of Symphony and a separate Art room are available in the school.

To cater to the smaller personal needs of the students a Tuck Shop is functioning in the school with the separate timings for boys and girls.

• Flower and Fruit Gardens

Vidyalaya possesses beautiful flower gardens and lush green fruit garden consisting of chikoo, amrood, lemon, anar, bel patra, kinu, mosami, kari-patta, aam, etc. are adding the beauty of the campus.

• Co-curricular Activities

Keeping in view of an integral development of students a well planed co-curricular activities such as essay competition, short story competition, elocution competition, extempore speech programs, solo competition, group song competition, poster writing, painting competition, dance competition etc. is taking place time to time in the vidyalaya. In addition to this students are actively participating in N.C.C and Scout and Guide activities. All the important international days and celebrations are being celebrated with solemnity.

4. Migration:

To inculcate feeling of National integration in students Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti is adopting migration policy. Under this policy 30 % of 9^th class students are sending on migration from Hindi speaking to non Hindi speaking state and vice versa for one year.

In this context J.N.V.Kajra is linked to J.N.V. Badodra, Gujrat. It is being implemented successfully, happily and hassle free in the vidyalaya.

1. Staff:

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Kajra is blessed with very seasoned and experienced faculty. Many members of the staff render their yeoman service to the students and to the community. Almost every year at least one member of the staff is being selected through all India test to the post of the Principal or Vice Principal either in JNV or KV or any other well reputed institutions.

2. Students:

Jhunjhunu district is known for its contribution to the armed force of the country. Many students are clearing competitive examination like N.D.A, C.D.S etc.. In addition to this students are being selected through all India test to I.I.T’s, N.I.T’s, A.I.M.S another medical colleges, Administrative services etc..

The contribution of the students in sports is extra ordinary. Many students are participating National Competition and S.G.F.I’s and win laurels to school.
