नवोदय विद्यालय शिक्षा की राष्ट्रीय नीति 1986 के तहत स्थापित किए गए थे। जे.एन.वी.-खुंबोंग, इंफाल पश्चिम 1 दिसंबर 1988 को स्थापित किए गए थे। स्कूल मुख्य रूप से ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों से जिले के प्रतिभाशाली युवा छात्रों की जरूरतों को पूरा करता है, जो उनके समग्र जीवन के विकास के लिए मार्ग प्रशस्त करते हैं।
हमने अच्छी तरह से बनाए रखा है और उचित रूप से सुसज्जित बुनियादी ढाँचा है जो विद्यालय के सुचारू संचालन में मदद करता है। यह उल्लेख करते हुए खुशी हो रही है कि तत्कालीन उपायुक्त इंफाल पश्चिम श्री के सक्रिय सहयोग से एन.एन. प्रवीण सिंह, आई.ए.एस.।
