As per the National Education Policy 1986, the Government has established Jawahar NavodayaVidyalayas throughout the country. Under the same policy Jawahar NavodayaVidyalayaGondia was established in 1987 and well-constructed at NavegaonBandh near to National Park, in the laps of the pastoral beauty. It has the blessings of calm and serene environment. Vidyalaya has all residential facilities, well established 3 science labs i.e.       Chemistry,Biology and Physics.It has also, Mathematics Lab, Computer Lab having highest class XII with science stream. Vidyalaya has also Gym & different playfield with 400 meter tracks. The Vidyalaya has maintained beautiful green campus with the help of SUPW teacher, staff and students. The school is nurturing and educating meritorious students of Districts of Bhandara and Gondia.
Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Gondia is running VI to XII classes.At present strength of the school consists of total 482 students. Since last five years the school has been producing 100% quality and quantity results for
Board and Non-Board classes.
However, JNV Gondia is One of the school Under Top Ten Ranking Schools in the Country’s 600 (Six Hundred) schools. The school has gained its name and fame due to the devoted, dedicated and hardworking teachers who      are serving round the clock for the betterment of the school. The school is aiming not only towards the academic but also taking care of all round development of the students’ personality. So, keeping this view time and again students are motivated and boosted to participate actively in various activities- like sports and games, Scout and Guide and Co-Curricular Activities too. Every year at least 20 students (10 boys and 10 Girls) are getting RajyaPuraskar in the field of Scout and Guide.
Apart from this from last ten years the vidyalaya is doing significant work for the wellbeing of the society. Near about 60 students were selected in the field of Medicine i.e. for MBBS and after completing their degrees they have been serving for the betterment and welfare of the society. In the span of ten years up to year 2016 near about 15 students have been selected for IIT and 20 students have been selected for NIT. In an average 2 to 3 students use to crack IIT’s every year.
