Jawahar Navodaya vidyalayas are established in every district of India except Tamil Nadu under National Policy of Education 1986 with an aim of providing excellence coupled with social justice. These vidyalayas are meant for upliftment of rural talented children by providing 75% reservation to rural backgrounds.Here students are provided quality education with fully residential setup both for boys and girls (Co-education) . Here the dedicated team of teachers do hardwork for the allround development of the students.The teacher plays the role of parents , guide, councellor and friend for the students living in vidyalaya.

The role of Jawahar Navodaya vidyalaya Dakshin Dinajpur is not only to pursue academic excellence but also to motivate and empower its students to be life long learners, critical thinkers and productive memebers of an ever changing global society.

The vidyalaya is striving hard to make the best possible efforts to enculcate strong values combining with acadamics and co-curricular activities in children under the able guidance of our cluster incharge Assistant Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner NVS Regional Office Patna.
