The year 1987 was the most auspicious year when the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Khanpora, Budgam came into existance and started operating in temporary site at Peer Bagh , Budgam.The school shifted to its permanent site at Khanpora , Budgam in the year 1995.The school campus covers around 147 Kanals and 8 Marlas. The academic buildings including several classrooms are linked by a computer network. The widespread use of email and an intranet system shrinks the distances and keeps staff, students and administration in quick and easy contact with one another. The Vidyalaya is surrounded by the grove of Deodar trees on the Srinagar- Budgam road at Khanpora. The school is located 4 K.M before Budgam city on ITI road ,Budgam.
