The 20th Dec, 2005 was the most auspicious day when the foundation stone of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Kalpathar, Bankura. Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Bankura established in the year 2005 at temporary site(Bankura-1 Panchayat Samiti Building , Poabagan, Bankura). In year 2011, the vidyalaya was shifted to its permanent site – Kalpathar. The vidyalaya is situated 18 K.M away from the District Head Quarter Bankura on the Bankura – Purulia Via Poabagan Road. The Bankura Railway station is 20 K.M away from the Vidyalaya. The Vidyalaya has 26.75 Acres of land.
