The biology laboratory is a modern research infrastructure, providing a broad range of biological and biochemical techniques with in-depth practical training offered by experienced staff. Important routine work is on microbial and molecular analyses and biological sample preparation in general. Several special applications, such as respiration experiments, enzyme kinetics, sterile culturing of microalgae, morphological taxonomic determination of fish larvae, or fatty acid sample preparation to characterize the nutritional status and composition of marine plankton. All these techniques ground on long standing expertise and a well-equipped facility (high precision scale, photometers, Fast Prep, Casey Cell counter and more). In addition to the basic tasks such as providing bench space or experimental setups in the constant temperature room, the biological laboratories offers some specialized working areas.

Mess is an integral part of JNV Bagalkote. It has a modern and clean kitchen. It offers healthy, tasty and nutritious food, which is prepared under the direction of well qualified and experienced catering staff. It has two sides in dining halls, one side for boys and the other for girls. The dining halls are well ventilated, well decorated and happily arranged. Audio-visual equipment has been installed in both sides for the entertainment of children as well as information updates. The school is running with the principle of mess service. We sincerely believe that service to students is a service to God. There is a tender system for procurement of raw materials. Suppliers are well indicated in advance, when supplies are received by a committee of teachers, non-teachers and students.
