PM Shri School Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya , Washim was established in 1994-95 at Lakhala, Washim in Akola district of Maharashtra. The Vidyalaya was located on Risod Road ,2 kms away from Washim and 85 kms away Akola from district headquarters on Bombay-Calcutta National Highway No.6 Equipped with sufficient/ specious administrative block having 22 rooms and hostel building having 44 rooms including a big dining hall and a few staff quarters provided by the Deputy Director of Education, Amravati Div. Amravati.
Shri. C.B. Lal , Chief Engineer , Central PWD laid down the foundation stone of the Vidyalaya Complex in presence of Hon. Sanjay Shethi, IAS, District Magistrate & Chairman, VMC on 15th Feb 1999. The first phase of construction work of the Vidyalaya Complex was completed in 18 months & the Vidyalaya shifted from its temporary site in to the permanent site in Nov 2000.
