JNV Thrissur, located at Mayannur equipped with a vision of “providing good quality modern education-including a strong component of culture, inculcation of values, awareness of the environment, adventure activities and physical education - to the talented children predominantly from the rural areas without regard to their family's socio-economic condition” began its journey in the year 1988. Over the years, the school has strived to make childhood, adolescence and learning a joy. The experienced, dedicated members of the staff have made it possible with their empathetic approach.

The school’s genuine concern ensures students emotional growth along with intellectual excellence. Various personal life skills like problem-solving, decision-making, communication, social skills too are honed here through various co-scholastic and co-curricular activities. Thus every child acquires self-confidence, self-esteem, self-awareness and with a vision to achieve his/her potential.
We firmly believe in imbibing our students with strong values. The programmes like ACP, AEP undertaken by NVS provide the students with ample situations to introspect and understand the need for inculcating values to overcome the problems related to so called ‘age of stress and storm’. These programmes train the students to find a passion for throwing out their negative emotions and fare well in life.
The key feature of the sprawling green campus includes air-conditioned resource room, two Samsung smart rooms, two computer labs in addition to regular science and mathematics labs.
I am confident that the present diversified curriculum and the well trained teachers will help the school to attain the objectives set by NVS towards making a student a good citizen of this beautiful world with virtues of head and heart.
