I am pleased to pen down a few words about Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas(JNVs). Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, well known for its objective of providing free and quality education to the rural talented students, has emerged as one of the most successful scheme of the Government of India in Human Resource Development. Students enrolled in this organisation have to pass through a transparent admission process i.e., JNV Selection Test. The JNVs are set up in each and every district across the country.

Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti has always seen quality education as its first priority, thereby ensuring academic excellence and overall personality development of the students, be it in the field of Sports and other Co-curricular activities. In North East Region as well, the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas are spread across each and every district including the state of Sikkim. The presence of JNVs in the far flung asreas of the Districts have proved very beneficial for the rural talented students and this Region has quite a good number of alumni occupying important and high ranking posts in the pubic sector system. Nonetheless, we have quite a few who hve excelled in their own private sector as well. The organisation has a strenght of qualified faculty and follows the CBSE curricula and syllabi which is regularly reviewed and revised according to the need of the hour.

I congratulate the stakeholders who have done this organisation proud and I do hope that through the consistent efforts of the faculty in redefining the minds of the young and budding students, this organisation will take this Region to new heights. It is our endeavour to reach out to the most needy, underprivileged sections of the society in eradicating illiteracy in the country. I believe that in our journey towards excellence, your valuable suggestions are our strenght for more improvement.
