Pace Setting Activities

The Navodaya Vidyalayas have been envisaged as pace-setting institutions, centres of educational excellence, providing opportunities for development, not only to Navodaya Vidyalaya students, but also to the children of neighbouring rural area schools through sharing of resources. Leadership qualities and other educational concerns that are linked to community and national developments are also supposed to be inculcated through pace-setting activities. “The aim of the pace-setting activities is to galvanize the academic, social, cultural and community oriented environment of schools,” in the vicinity. By virtue of having a highly qualified and competent team of teachers, good laboratories and IT infrastructure, teaching aids and sports equipment and rich libraries, JNVs are in a position to function as a “focal point for improvement in the quality of school education in general, through sharing of experience and facilities”. Interactions of staff and students of Navodaya Vidyalayas with their counterparts in adjoining schools, participation in joint community efforts, adoption of a village for awareness programmes and sharing of educational facilities are some of the pace-setting activities undertaken by Navodaya Vidyalaya. JNVs also make general attempts to involve the local school community in disseminating the modern school practices with a view to improve school eco-system.

Pace Setting Activities of Year 2019-20

Report on Pace-setting activities during the session 2019-20 S.No. Activity Detail 1 Mass Plantation Drive was organized on the 25-07-2019. On the occasion of “Harela” to promote and inculcate the habit of Presservati0on and conservation of biodiversity. The whole school participated in this poises event. The programme was organized in collaboration with the forest department. 2 Kargil Divas or Vijay Divas was celebrated on the 26-07-2019 to bring alive the valor of the heroes of Kargil war and inspire the students for dedication to the Nation. Rally was organized on the occasion to the adjoining village where the whole school participated. 3 Independence Day was celebrated on the 15-08-19 along with the rest of Nation. The programme started with a rally to adjoining village shouting slogans. The whole school participated in the rally. Other programme of the day was flag hosting ceremony, March Past And Cultural programmes. 4 The birthday of the visionary leader, the founder of NVS Shri Rajeev Gandhi Was Celebrated as Sadbhavna Divas on the 20-08-2019. Programme started with paying floral tributes to shri Rajeev Gandhi. Thereafter were speeches from the students, SMT and Principal of the Vidyalaya. Highlighting the various Contributed made by Shri Rajeev Gandhi ji in the field of technology. Education and his vision to bring rural India at per Urban India in terms of facilities and academic excellence. 5 Hindi Pakhwara was observed from the 1st to 14th sept-2019 in order to popularize the use of Hindi as an official language during the fortnight various in the school every day. Which culminated with an interschool content based Quiz Competition in which three other school participated (Green Public school, Saraswati Vidya Mandir , GIC Khairasain). Prizes were given away to the winners by the school principal. 6 Along with the Pakhwada Swachchta Pakhwada was also PM N. Modi ji from 1st to 14th sept. The programme started on the 1st of Sept by a swachchta Pledge. This was given to the whole school by the respected A.C. sir. The saw a array of various programme like cleanliness of the dormitories class, surrounding houses, academic block ,essay writing ,painting competition and also creating awareness in the villages. 7 Celebrating school of thought along with the rest of the country on the 2nd oct-19 of a Clean India, Cleanliness Drive was organized on the the 2nd oct-19 to clean the poises Dangleshwar Mandir and its adjoining area and also the route to the Mandir A group of teachers and students went all the way piecing up wrappers .And collecting them at one place . Thereafter burning them until the reached the Mandir. Cleanliness is next to godliness. 8 In order to increase collaboration among the members of the educational Hub created by CBSE. Which our school in the leader. An interschool Volly-ball Competition on the 14-10-19. It was organized at Dehradun. Our school participating in the programme by sending a team headed by Aditya Chamoli and was escorted by Mr. Sunil Kumar TGT Hindi. 9 Vigilance Awareness week was observed in the Vidyalaya from 4-11-19 to 10-11-19. The programme started by taking a pledge initiated by the school Principal and followed by all. The week highlighted the various programmes of the government its policies, awareness against corruption and adulation and bribery. Various programmes in the form of speeches, awareness programme were organized throughout the week. 10 Unity Day was also celebrated an 4th nov-19 as per the instruction of regional office as the 31-10-19 was a holiday (Autumn break). The programme started by paying floral tributes the Iron Man of India Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel. The programmeme followed by speech Principal highlighting the contribution made by Sardar Patel in Uniting India. 11 Wild life programme was organized on the 12-11-19 to inculcate the habit on conservation and preservation of wild life. The day started with an official visit by the forest department to the Vidyalaya. Their welcome in the Vidyalaya mess. Followed by a day long programme by a day long programme of speeches and video clipping shown to student and staff the whole school participated in the programme. The day ended with gifting of banners and posters and sweet distribution by the forest department. 12 Children’s Day was celebrated on the 14-11-19. In the Vidyalaya along with the rest of the country various programmes were organized an the day as Inter-house Dance and singing competition and friendly matches between students and teachers but the highlight of the day was an Inter-house S.St. Quiz Competition organized on the occasion in which the school of the educational Hub took part. The trophies were given away to the winners by the school Principal. 13 As Pace-Setters of the district our school is followed by many others in various aspects. Keeping up with this there was education tour to our Vidyalaya by six small school of Kot Block on the 22-11-19. The students and their escorts were given a warm welcome at the Principal chambers. Thereafter they visit the labs( Phy. , Chem., Bio., Smart lab and Computer lab). The school Library, Dormitories and Vidyalaya Mess. Their tour ended with lunch in the Vidyalaya Mess. 14 World AIDS Day was observed on the 1-12-2019. In order to create awareness in the mass in general and student in particular about the deadly disease. The day was observed by organizing an awareness rally and speeches by students and teachers. Which highlighted the causes effects and the prevention that can be taken thereof. 15 As pace-setters in the district an eye-check up and distribution of spectacles to the needy. It was organized in the Vidyalaya in collaboration with Rashtriya Baal Swasthya Karyakram on the 9-12-19. In the MI. Room of the Vidyalaya. Many adjoining school students come for the eye check up. The programme was co-ordinate by Ms. Usha Hessa Staff Nurse. 16 Republic Day was celebrated with great pomp and show in the Vidyalaya on the 26-01-2020. The day started with” Prabhat Pheri “at 6:00AM. Followed by flag hosting, March past of different houses, cultural programme, Which was followed by lunch. A friendly between teachers and staff was organized in the evening. The programme ended with the lowering of the flag at 4:45P.M. 17 To uplift the scientific temper and inculcate scientific value in the upcoming generation of the Nation. National Science Day was celebrated on the 28-02-2020. The programme started with paying floral tributes to Sir C.V. Raman. The programme was followed by speeches from students on the contribution of various scientists to the modern world. The Apical event of the day was a Science exhibition by both junior and senior students which ended the whole day 18 International Women’s Day 08-03-2020 tributes to the women all over the world in their fight for equality of wages equal participation in various walks of life in building and up-lifting a Nation. The programme started with lighting of the lamp by the school Principal .Followed by speeches students and teachers and Principal on the contribution made by women and the significance of the gender in the society.
