National Service Scheme (NSS)
NSS Stands for National Service Scheme. The main objective of the National Service Scheme as envisaged originally was service to the community, offered while undergoing instruction, in an educational institution. It was sought to arouse the social consciousness of students and provide them with the opportunity to work with the people around the educational campuses creatively and constructively and to put the education they received to concrete social use. It has been felt that the primary aim of the scheme is to enable the students to upgrade their personality and experience through community service. In our Vidyalaya every year on 24th September is celebrated as NSS Day.
The motto, i.e., the watchword of the NSS is “Not Me But You”. This expresses the essence of democratic living and upholds the need for selfless service and appreciation of the other man’s point of view and also to show consideration for fellow human beings. A full unit of 115 students of class XI and XII of this Vidyalaya have been registered under this scheme leading our NSS Volunteers strength to 115.
Our NSS unit celebrates all important days as well as organise in different rallys to educate and aware about the evils exisiting in our society & how to eradicate them. Our NSS unit also organises 7 days special camp every year. During this camp our volunteers provide their services to the adopted village Kothipura. Different resource persons also deliver some informative lectures to our volunteers during this camp.
