To impart modern Education to rral talented students, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya were set up under the National Educaton Policy 1986 by govt. of India. In this context the foundation stone of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Jharsuguda was laid down by the Chief Minister of Odisha Mr. Naveen Patnaik on 9th Nov 2002 in the temporary site at Jharsuguda Engineering School in the Year 2002. It has been shifted to this Permanent site at Lahandabud, H. Katapali in the western outskrits of Jharsuguda town on 1st April 2012. The Vidyalaya accommodate students from class VI to X (Double Section) & XI to XII science having single section.
The School campus coverd with 25 acers grove of Pine trees located in the lap of nature which is 8 km away from Jharsuguda Railway Station .
The School is will equiped with modern faicilites Like Smart Class (40 Laptops), saprate Laboratery well equiped Library, Music Room, Sports Room, Art Room. The School has beautifull garden with lighting fountain which adds beauty of the school campus.
